DEE, Dhaka-Ashulia Expressway to get highest priority this term: Quader

The road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that from the Padma Bridge daily Tk 2 crore is collected as tolls.

Since the beginning around Tk 1,252 crore had been collected as tolls from the bridge, he said at a press briefing held at Setu Bhaban in Dhaka.

 

He also said that from the Karnaphuli Tunnel daily Tk 10 lakh is collected as tolls and so far Tk 10.72 crore had been collected as tolls from the tunnel.

The minister said that during his this term the Dhaka Elevated Expressway and Dhaka-Ashulia Expressway would get the highest priority.

‘Within this year the rest 50 per cent works of the DEE would be completed,’ he said.

He also said that till now around 30 per cent works of the Dhaka Ashulia Expressway had been completed.

They would also construct different roads including Kochua-Betagi road on river Payra and elevated road in Mithamain area in Kishoreganj, he said.

The minister was accompanied by the Bridges Division secretary Manjur Ahmed.
