The director general of Bangladesh Railway, Sardar Shahadat Ali, said on Thursday that no decision was made on when railway operations would resume its services.
The authorities suspended railway services across the country for an indefinite period on Saturday due to passengers’ safety.
‘No decision has yet been made on the movement of trains. It is not about resuming the train services rather it is about ensuring the safety of the people. A decision will be taken after analysing the overall situation and consulting with ministers, secretaries and others,’ he told UNB.
Short-distance passenger trains were supposed to run from Thursday but the decision was changed and the train services remained suspended.
