A Dhaka court on Wednesday put ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s energy adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury on a four-day remand in a case filed over the death of Md Sumon Sikder in Badda, Dhaka’s on July 19 during student-led mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider passed the order after police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand prayer in the case, said police inspector Asaduzzaman.
On August 20, the victim’s mother Masuma filed the murder case with Badda police station against Hasina and 179 others.
Tawfiq-e-Elahi was arrested in the capital’s Gulshan area on Tuesday night.
