Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed on Thursday said there is no security threat centering the International Mother Language Day.
“There’s no security threat. A three-tier security measure has been taken to ensure smooth observation of the International Mother Language Day,” he said when visiting the Central Shaheed Minar.
“Better security ensures better participation of people in national festivals and occasions,” he said.
The elite force’s security was divided into five parts. Check posts will be set up, RAB members will patrol on foot and on motorcycles, there will be plainclothes surveillance and the dog squad will also be deployed, said RAB DG.
There will also be a special reserve force. Besides, RAB will keep patrolling by helicopter.
