Two people were killed and seven others injured as a microbus rammed two CNG run auto-rickshaws in Gabua Bus Stand area of Sadar upazila in Patuakhali on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Md Nurul Islam, 60, son of Kashem Shikder, hailing from Daspara area of Baufal upazila under the district and Kutti Talukder, 42, son of Md Alauddin Talukder, from Town Joynkathi area of the same upazila.

The injured are identified as Md, Khokon, 35, Miraz, 29, Lamia, 22, Al-Amin, 32, Arif, 20, Abdur Razzaq Hawlader, 50 and Kandar Bayati, 55. Now they are undergoing treatment at Patuakhali 250-bed Hospital.

Confirming the news, Mehedi Hasan, sub-inspector (SI) of Patuakhali Sadar Police Sation, said the Patuakhali-bound microbus hit the auto-rickshaws carrying the victims in the area, leaving nine passengers of the auto-rickshaw injured.

Later, locals took the injured to the hospital where duty doctor declared Nurul and Kutti dead.
