The fire that broke out at a readymade garment (RMG) factory in Jhut Potti of the capital’s Mirpur 10 area was doused after two hours on Saturday afternoon.
Russel Sikdar, a duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, confirmed this to media.
He said, “Fifteen firefighting units rushed to the spot and fought the blaze for more than two hours and brought it under control at around 3:30 pm.”
The origin of the blaze and amount of losses caused by it could not be determined yet, he added.
Earlier, the fire broke out at around 1:25 pm.
