The High Court (HC) on Monday ordered state to submit all the relevant documents over conviction and sentencing of journalist Ariful Islam by mobile court.
A High Court vacation bench comprising Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir passed the order after holding hearing on a writ filed in this regard.
The court asked to submit the documents by March 23 and also asked prosecution to inform it about the steps taken by Ministry of Public Administration over the matter.
Senior lawyer AM Amin Uddin and Ishrat Hasan moved the writ before the court, while Deputy Attorney General Debashish Biswas appeared for the state.
The High Court yesterday had sought copy of mobile court order, list of people took part in the mobile court raid, whether it was a mobile court or taskforce, whether proper guideline was followed for conducting mobile court in night, reasons behind conducting the raid and list of witnesses.
Bangla Tribune, the online news agency for which Ariful was working, executive editor Harun ur Rashid filed the writ on March 15.
