Three more persons — a woman and two children– have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country raising the number of coronavirus patient to five.
Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), confirmed this at a media briefing on the latest coronavirus situation at her office in the capital’s Mohakhali on Monday morning.
The new three patients are family members of one of the two patients detected on Sunday, she said.
With the development, the number of total coronavirus cases jumped to eight till Monday morning.
Earlier on Sunday, IEDCR confirmed that two persons were found infected with the novel coronavirus in the country.
On the same day, Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora also informed that the first three coronavirus patients recovered fully and they were discharged from the hospital.
