Four doctors of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have been sent to the home quarantine.
Dr Khan Abul Kalam Azad, principal of the hospital, disclosed the information at a press conference on Wednesday morning.
He said: “None of these doctors are infected. They had attended 10 patients, of whom four were found Coronavirus positive. So, we sent the four doctors to the home quarantine.”
The identities of the doctors were not released. However, the DMCH Principal said two of them are from the medicine department while two are nephrologists.
The decision came from a meeting this morning. Among others, DMCH Director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin and all heads of departments were present.
Bangladesh has so far reported 10 coronavirus cases.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has climbed to 7,987 globally as of Wednesday.
It has so far infected 198,426 people around the world, according to worldometer.
Of them, 107,676 are currently being treated with 6,415 being in serious or critical condition.
So far, 90,750 cases had outcomes and of them, 82,763 (91 percent) recovered and 9 percent died.
