Legendary Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila has been going through self quarantine at her residence in Asad Avenue in the capital after returning from the United Kingdom since March 16.
The singer informed this in her recent Facebook post on Friday night.
“Having returned recently from the UK I have voluntarily put myself in self confinement along with my family members and entire staff,” she wrote.
In a bid to make people aware of “Coronavirus”, Runa Laila urged her fans and friends to take all the measures to contain Covid-19 and protect not only ourselves but for everyone else around us.
She further suggested, “We have to take heed of all the rules that we have to adhere to that we have been told by the government and doctors at home and abroad.”
“As a responsible citizen of my country and the world it is my duty and responsibility to take all necessary precautions to prevent it from spreading further,” Runa Laila’s post reads.
As per sources, Runa Laila returned home on Monday last (March 16) after wrapping up a one and half month long visit to the UK. She was scheduled to perform two stage shows—one on March 27 and second one in April. She has to cancel those shows since coronavirus pandemic across the globe.
“All large assemblies and gatherings MUST NOT take place and MUST be avoided,” she wrote.
The post also reads, “Anyone who has travelled recently should voluntarily put himself or herself in home confinement for 14 days to ensure they are not infected with the Corona Virus and therefore not infecting anyone coming into contact with them.”
She wished everyone’s safety and good health, “Take heed, Be careful and above all BE SAFE AND KEEP OTHERS SAFE. God bless us all.”
