Petrol pump owners have decided to postpone their strike till September 12 upon getting assurance from the government to meet their demands.
Bangladesh Petroleum Dealers, Distributors, Agents and Petrol Pump Owners’ Association President Mohammad Nazmul Haque announced the decision at a press briefing at the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation office in the capital’s Karwanbazar on Monday.
“We will go on strike from September 13 if the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources fails to provide any solution to their demands till then,” he said.
Earlier on August 24, the association announced that they will enforce strike on August 31 in a bid to press home several demands, including a higher sales commission.
