World coconut day 2021 on 2nd September. Even though the essence of the day is to celebrate the love we have for this hard and hairy fruit, it is actually observed to commemorate the formation of the Asian Pacific Coconut Community (APCC).
The purpose of the APCC is “to promote, coordinate and harmonize all activities of the coconut industry.” With Indians being one of the biggest lovers of coconut, we are also part of this community. We love coconut in our drink (coconut water) we love coconut in our food (coconut rice) and we love coconut in our dessert (coconut barfi)! Why not try out making a simple yet delicious coconut curry to express our appreciation for this versatile fruit.
