The countrymen, especially of northern region have got rid of pinching cold after weeks of suffering.
Though the temperature has slightly dropped, cold wave may returned within a few days in different parts of the country, said meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque.
The lowest temperature being 8.8 degree Celsius was recorded in Tetulia of Panchgarh on Thursday in continuation of longstanding suffering of the people of the district caused by mercury.
The cold wave began on December 18 and it spread across the country. The lowest temperature was recorded at 6 degree Celsius on December 23.
Below 6 degree Celsius temperature is called deep cold wave while 6.8 degree moderate, and temperature between 8 to 10 degree mild cold wave, the meteorologist added.
