Bangladesh logged an additional 17 deaths and 528 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Wednesday, counting the death toll to 8,072 and infections to 533,444.
Among the deceased, eight were male and nine female patients.
A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.
Some 15,720 specimens were tested in the timeline at 200 labs across the country.
Bangladesh had tested a total of 36,00,508 specimens as of January 27. A total of 509 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 477,935.
Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
