US envoy holds closed-door meeting with DMP chief for 1.5hrs

United States ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas held a closed-door meeting with Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Khandaker Golam Farooq at the DMP headquarters for one and a half hours on Wednesday.
The ambassador was accompanied by his human rights officer while the commissioner was accompanied by his additional commissioners from counter terrorism, Detective Branch and the crime and operations.
The commissioner declined to comment on the issues they had discussed in the meeting.
His spokesman deputy commissioner Faruk Hossain said that they had discussed law and order situation, investigation of different cases and, counter terrorism efforts, especially the Moulvibazar operation of the metropolitan police.
