Awami League advisory council member and former deputy minister AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi passed away at a hospital in Dhaka on Saturday.
He was 76.
Fakhrul Islam, former lawmaker, had been undergoing treatment at United Hospital and breathed his last in the morning, said his son lawmaker Razee Mohammad Fakhrul.
He was put on life support after a stroke on October 9.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
The namaz-e-janaza of Fakhrul Islam will be held in Cumilla’s Debidwar upazila’s Bonkut and Riaz Uddin High School field, Sangshad Bhaban, and Gulshan Society Mosque on Saturday.
He will be buried at Banani Graveyard following the fourth namaz-e-janaza at Gulshan Society Mosque.
